Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has paid an emotional tribute to the late Alexx Ekubo, remembering him as a cheerful and energetic actor who left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
In a video shared on Instagram, Edochie revealed that although he only met Ekubo three times, each encounter reflected the late actor’s warm personality and generosity.
“Alexx Ekubo came, he saw, and he left an indelible impression. I met him three times. On the first occasion, he arrived at my hotel with a big cow and a group of Ogene drummers to invite me to an event.”
The veteran actor also disclosed that he recently learned Ekubo had been making plans for his 80th birthday celebration, making his passing even more heartbreaking.
“I was told he had big plans for my 80th birthday celebration next year, but unfortunately, he is gone.”
Edochie also praised actor IK Ogbonna for standing by Ekubo throughout his life and after his death.
“IK Ogbonna proved himself a true friend, both in life and in death.”
