The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced another reduction in the pump price of petrol, marking its second price cut within four days.

A market survey showed that NNPCL filling stations in areas including Airport Junction, Wuse Zone 6 and Berger in Abuja are now selling petrol at ₦1,210 per litre, down from the previous price of ₦1,260 per litre.

The latest adjustment represents a ₦50 reduction per litre and comes just two days after Dangote Refinery lowered its ex-depot petrol price by the same amount to ₦1,125 per litre.

It also follows NNPCL’s earlier decision to slash its pump price by ₦75 per litre four days ago, reducing it from ₦1,335 to ₦1,260 per litre.

With the new adjustment, petrol now sells for between ₦1,210 and ₦1,305 per litre across different filling stations in Abuja and surrounding areas.

The recent price reductions come amid a decline in global crude oil prices, with Brent crude trading at about $71 per barrel and West Texas Intermediate hovering around $69 per barrel following easing tensions in the Middle East. The drop has strengthened public expectations for further reductions in domestic fuel prices.
