Actress Doris Ogala has responded to remarks made by social media personality VeryDarkMan, who questioned her governorship ambition and criticised Omoyele Sowore over her emergence as a governorship aspirant.
Reacting to the comments, Ogala rejected the claim that Sowore influenced her decision to seek political office, insisting that her ambition was entirely personal and not orchestrated by anyone.
She explained that the African Action Congress (AAC) leader was unaware she had obtained the party’s nomination form until they eventually met during a vetting session, adding that she had neither spoken to nor seen him after declaring her interest until they met in court.
Ogala also dismissed suggestions that she was being used as a political tool, stressing that she makes her own decisions and cannot be controlled.
While acknowledging the support VeryDarkMan has shown her in the past, the actress said she values peace over conflict and has no desire to be caught in a public feud between two people she respects.
She appealed to VeryDarkMan and Sowore to put aside their differences and unite in the fight against what she described as a broken political system rather than attacking one another.
“I deeply respect your strength, but I choose to distance myself from this misunderstanding. You have come through for me in the past, and I do not take that for granted. However, I choose peace over chaos.
“My decision to run for governor is entirely my own, and I am not someone anyone can dictate to.
“Omoyele Sowore was never aware I had obtained an African Action Congress (AAC) nomination form until a particular vetting class session. Since I declared my interest to run, I have neither spoken to nor seen Sowore until the day I saw him in court.
“I want to plead with you all to come together, and join forces so we can retire those oppressors who have intentionally hijacked our system. I love you both. God bless you.”
