Flying Eagles midfielder Daniel Daga has been cleared of sexual assault allegations after the Frostating Court of Appeal in Norway overturned the earlier ruling against him.

The case kept the 19-year-old out of competitive action for nearly 11 months while legal proceedings continued.

His Norwegian club, Molde FK, announced on Thursday that Daga is now available for selection again as it awaits the court’s final written judgment.

Daga had previously been sentenced by the Romsdal District Court to six months in prison after being convicted of sexually assaulting a woman. The court also ordered him to pay NOK 10,000 in legal costs.

Following the appeal, however, the conviction was overturned, paving the way for the young midfielder’s return to football.

Daga represented Nigeria at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in both 2023 and 2025.
