Ray Emodi has announced his return to Nollywood, months after declaring he was leaving the movie industry to dedicate himself fully to music.
The actor broke the news in a YouTube video titled “Nollywood, I Am Sorry,” where he admitted that taking a break from acting made him realize how much he missed being on set and reignited his love for filmmaking.
In February, the 35-year-old had revealed that he was stepping away from acting to focus entirely on his music career, explaining that music had always been his greatest passion.
Speaking on why he initially left Nollywood, Emodi said years of relentless work had left him burnt out.
“I stopped acting because I was tired,” he said.
“Imagine acting from 2017 till the end of last year, about 300 productions. Eight years without vacations. If you do something too much, you naturally become exhausted.”
After taking time away from the industry, Emodi said he has now rediscovered his passion for acting and is ready to resume his career in Nollywood.
