Singer Superboy Cheque has spoken out against the growing trend of calling content creators and entertainers “olodo,” saying people should not be insulted for making an honest living.
Speaking during an interview, the music star argued that anyone earning money legitimately without harming others deserves respect rather than ridicule.
Reacting to the “olodo uprising” debate, Cheque said, “Olodo uprising. I don’t think it’s a good thing and I think it’s an insult to human beings.”
He also questioned why some people spend time criticising others instead of focusing on themselves.
“If you think somebody is doing something stupid, and you are saying it’s stupid, it means you are part of being stupid because you are talking about it. Why don’t you just leave it alone?” he said.
Cheque suggested that some of the criticism may be driven by jealousy, especially when people see others gaining attention and financial success.
“Because if you put down people’s own, it’s because you’re probably jealous yours is not getting the attention. But now they are doing well, they’re not stealing, they’re not killing, they’re not robbing, and you are angry again?” he added.
The singer also defended popular TikToker Peller, insisting he should not be mocked for the way he entertains people.
“Pella is a human being who is hustling hard for his family, too, like me. So if he’s feeding his family, woe to me if I say he shouldn’t do it!”
He concluded by praising Peller for staying true to himself, saying, “He’s being himself, fortunately, there’s a large number of people who love it and they are dumping money in his pocket.”
