Nigerian singer Olawale Ashimi, popularly known as Brymo, has alleged that legendary musician 2Baba once asked his former wife, Annie Idibia, if she had ever had a sexual relationship with him. He also admitted that he was involved with several married women during the early stages of his music career.
Brymo made the remarks during Tuesday’s edition of the NotJustOk podcast on YouTube, where he reflected on his past relationships and the experiences that shaped his outlook on life.
The singer said his growing fame after one of his hit songs drew the attention of several older women, many of whom were married but claimed they were no longer living with their husbands.
He said those experiences taught him valuable lessons and warned younger artistes against having affairs with married women.
“I met quite a number of older women who were truly married. This goes to younger artistes, stop sleeping with people’s wives. They will cut your life short. They would tell me they were separated from their husbands,” he said.
Brymo also recounted an incident involving one of the women, who invited him to perform at her sister’s wedding before asking him to entertain guests at her family home.
According to him, he agreed until she informed him that her husband would also be attending.
“She said, ‘Our baba will be there.’ I thought she meant her father, but she said, ‘No, my husband.’
“As far as I’m concerned, me going there to perform that night is me opening myself up for some crazy ritual. I just couldn’t take it, so I had to get out,” he said.
He added that the incident brought back memories of an encounter he claimed happened in 2019 at an office in Lekki Phase 1, where 2Baba allegedly turned to Annie and asked if she had ever been involved with him sexually.
“As at 2019, I remember that moment in Naomi’s office in Lekki Phase 1 when 2Face looked me square in the eye and asked Annie, ‘You don f*** Brymo?’
“I will never forget it. I am wicked, you people don’t know me,” Brymo claimed.
