Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has expressed concern over the failure to upload results from Saturday’s Osun State governorship election to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Result Viewing Portal, IReV.

The singer raised the issue on X, questioning the electoral commission over the absence of results on the platform several hours into the voting process. He called on INEC to provide voters with clear and timely information in the interest of transparency.

Davido also urged voters not to leave their polling units until the results recorded there had been uploaded to IReV. He advised them to closely monitor the figures entered on the electronic EC8A form to ensure they corresponded with the results announced at their polling units.

He further asked voters to take pictures of their signed result sheets and forward them to a WhatsApp contact he shared, stressing that citizens needed to take steps to safeguard their votes.

In a separate post, the singer alleged that efforts were being made to withdraw security personnel from the election and directly accused President Bola Tinubu of undermining Nigeria’s democracy.

“INEC, it is now 2:33 p.m., yet no result has been uploaded to the IReV portal. What is the delay? Nigerians deserve transparency and timely updates,” he wrote.

He added, “Make sure your polling unit results are uploaded on IReV in your presence and make sure the figures are entered on eEC8A (electronic EC8A). We will follow our votes bumper to bumper!”

Davido further stated, “Don’t leave your polling unit until it is being uploaded on the IReV, protect your vote now.”

“Because we are winning. They want to withdraw the police and military! MR PRESIDENT TINUBU ! UR KILLING DEMOCRACY,” he wrote.
