Afrobeats star Davido has opened up about the longstanding relationship between his family and billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote, revealing that the business mogul has been a source of financial guidance to him since childhood.
Speaking in a recent interview, Davido said Dangote has maintained a close bond with his family for several decades and has consistently advised him on how to manage his finances.
The singer revealed that Dangote was present in his family’s life from his earliest days, noting that the billionaire personally drove his mother home from the hospital following his birth.
According to Davido, Dangote has continued to remind him of the importance of saving and managing his wealth whenever they meet.
“Anytime I see him, he still tells me, ‘David, save your money.’ He’s been saying that since I was a baby,” the singer said.
Davido added that the billionaire’s financial advice has remained valuable throughout his career in the entertainment industry.
He also described Dangote as a close associate of his father, businessman Adedeji Adeleke, explaining that the relationship between the two families dates back several decades.
The singer further noted that his personal relationship with Dangote, which began during his childhood, has continued to grow into his adult years.
