Sean “Diddy” Combs has asked a federal judge to sanction a woman who sued him, arguing that her lawsuit is legally baseless and has unnecessarily forced him to continue defending the case.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Diddy is seeking sanctions against Grace O’Marcaigh and her legal team, claiming they filed an amended complaint that repeated arguments a judge had already rejected after ruling that California courts lacked personal jurisdiction over him.
His lawyers argued that instead of addressing the issues identified by the court, O’Marcaigh simply repackaged the same claims, compelling him to incur additional legal expenses defending what they described as a meritless lawsuit.
As a result, Diddy is asking the court to order O’Marcaigh and her attorneys to cover his legal fees and other related costs.
O’Marcaigh’s legal team has pushed back against the request, insisting the amended complaint contains new allegations they believe establish sufficient links between Combs and California through the yacht charter involved in the case.
They also argued that the judge had granted them permission to amend the complaint and maintained that Diddy’s request for sanctions has no legal basis.
O’Marcaigh sued Diddy and his son, Christian “King” Combs, over an alleged incident aboard a yacht in the Caribbean in 2022.
She accused Christian of sexually assaulting her while she was working as a steward on the vessel and alleged that Diddy bears civil liability for the incident.
Diddy has denied the allegations.
