Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has weighed in on the conversation sparked by skitmaker and influencer Ashmusy over egg freezing and fertility choices.
Ashmusy recently opened up about undergoing the procedure, explaining that it was a deliberate step to preserve her chances of having children later in life while giving herself more time to make major personal decisions without societal pressure.
Responding to her post, Sarah Martins commended the awareness but pointed out an important health concern, noting that egg freezing does not shield women from sexually transmitted infections.
She took to social media to write:
“Dear Ashmusy,
Thank you for educating women on egg freezing.
But, please remind them that freezing their eggs to prevent an unwanted pregnancy doesn’t prevent them from getting infected with HIV/AIDS and other diseases that come with careless bedmatics.
It is better to freeze your eggs than give birth to unplanned children.
But it doesn’t prevent you from getting infections, my queens. Still use protection.
Protect yourself always
Kudos to my boo @ashmusy”
