Veteran Nollywood actor Dele Odule has shared a deeply personal account of one of the lowest moments in his life, revealing how he once felt completely defeated and unable to see a way forward.
During an interview, the actor disclosed that things became so overwhelming for him while living in Abeokuta that he went as far as pricing his own casket, convinced his future held no breakthrough.
He also recalled that fellow actor Olaiya Igwe was with him at the time and became emotional, breaking down in tears over his situation.
“i have price my own c@sket before when everything and my life was in shambles, in Abeokuta. i didn’t get myself anymore, i don’t believe i can breakthrough. Olaiya Igwe knows about it, i went there with him, he started crying like a baby. i believed i can’t breakthrough. people i went to Teacher Training College with became captain, major…”
Odule explained that seeing his former classmates achieve success while he remained stuck added to his frustration and hopelessness at the time.
His story, however, reflects a remarkable turnaround, coming shortly after the launch of his film village — a major achievement that underscores how far he has risen despite the struggles he once faced.
