Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has appeared before the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) over an ongoing investigation into the alleged fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).
Gbajabiamila was questioned at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja on Monday as investigators intensified their probe into the controversial body, which the Presidency has insisted was never created by the Federal Government.
Confirming the development, his lawyer, Jiti Ogunye, said the Chief of Staff honoured the ICPC’s invitation and cooperated fully with investigators in compliance with President Tinubu’s directive for a thorough investigation.
Ogunye disclosed that Gbajabiamila arrived at the ICPC office around 3 p.m., where he gave his statement and answered questions before returning to the Presidency to continue his official duties.
“In full cooperation with the ICPC acting as directed by the President of Nigeria, I hereby confirm that my client, Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria, responded to the invitation of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) and appeared at about 15:00hrs on Monday, July 20, 2026, as part of the ongoing investigation into the activities of the ‘PFIPC’ fake agency, among others,” Ogunye said.
He added that the Chief of Staff answered every question put to him and thereafter resumed his official responsibilities.
The investigation centres on the PFIPC, an organisation the Presidency says was never established through legislation, an Executive Order or presidential approval, describing it as a non-existent agency.
