Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy has shared his opinion on the growing trend among upcoming artistes who keep very few posts on Instagram in the name of “aesthetic” branding.
The music executive said he is not impressed by artistes who maintain low social media activity while still expecting to be discovered or signed into the industry.
According to him, visibility and consistency online still play a key role in building a music career and attracting opportunities.
“I will never sign you if you don’t like to post,” he said.
Don Jazzy added that he is tired of seeing artistes with only a handful of Instagram posts describing it as aesthetic.
“I’m tired of seeing artistes with just 3 posts on Instagram calling it aesthetic,” he stated.
He further compared the habits of international celebrities with some African artistes who prefer minimal posting.
Referencing global stars, he noted that consistency matters even at the highest level.
“Kim Kardashian has over 6000 posts, Travis Scott has thousands too… stop trying to copy Wizkid, Burna Boy and Asake,” he added.
