Nollywood actress Judy Austin has taken her dispute with her former husband, Emmanuel Obasi, to court, seeking N1 billion in damages over allegations linked to their past marriage.
The legal action comes after months of public exchanges between the former couple, with Obasi repeatedly speaking about their failed marriage and making claims involving Judy and actor Yul Edochie.
Obasi had alleged that Judy became involved with Yul while she was still married to him. Judy, however, has rejected the claim, insisting that her marriage to Obasi ended in 2013 and denying that she had an affair with Yul during their marriage.
The latest lawsuit has now shifted the long-running dispute from social media and public statements to the courtroom.
Judy is asking the court to award her N1 billion in damages over the allegations contained in her former husband’s claims.
