Manchester United have reached an agreement worth £35 million (€40.5 million) with Italian club Atalanta for the signing of Brazilian midfielder Ederson.
The 26-year-old is expected to sign a four-year contract at Old Trafford, with an option to extend for a further 12 months.
Ederson is yet to complete his medical, but the deal is expected to be finalised in early July before United begin pre-season training.
The transfer includes an additional £3.9 million (€4.5 million) in potential add-ons.
He is set to become the first signing under new permanent head coach Michael Carrick, who was appointed last month, as the club begins a midfield rebuild.
United are reportedly planning up to three midfield signings this summer, with the club prioritising reinforcements in that area following the expected departure of Casemiro, whose contract expires at the end of the month.
Ederson, who has three international caps for Brazil, was included in the country’s expanded 55-man World Cup squad but did not make the final selection announced by manager Carlo Ancelotti.
