Mofe Duncan has reacted angrily to a social media comment made under his post about the Service of Songs held in honour of late actor Alexx Ekubo.
Duncan had shared photos from the memorial event, where Nollywood colleagues and friends gathered to pay tribute to the late actor. However, the post attracted criticism from an Instagram user who questioned the sincerity of public expressions of grief.
The user wrote: “All these show off so call love, if they ask one of you to d!e in place of him now……Voicemail.”
The comment did not go down well with Duncan, who fired back directly, saying: “Don’t be daft! You already look it..Don’t act it publicly.”
Following the exchange, the actor further expressed disappointment over what he described as increasing insensitivity on social media, especially regarding issues of death and mourning.
“This aggravate me..This is what happens when you put smart phones in the hands of individuals who were not raised right,” he added.
Duncan was among several Nollywood personalities who attended the Service of Songs in honour of Alexx Ekubo, whose passing in May 2026 continues to draw tributes across the entertainment industry.
