Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has spoken candidly about how his parents reacted to his decision to pursue acting, revealing that his father still struggles to fully accept his career choice.
In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, the actor shared that despite his growing success in the film industry, his father remains unconvinced about his profession.
“My father doesn’t know that I’m an actor. He has heard, but he doesn’t want to believe it. But it’s my truth,” he said.
Arukwe explained that his mother initially found it difficult to accept his career path, largely due to her husband’s influence, but eventually became more supportive over time.
“My mum was slow to adapt because of her husband, but she later came around,” he added.
The actor, who has featured in several Nollywood productions, reflected on the personal challenges he faced while trying to build a career in entertainment against family expectations.
