Nollywood actress Nkiru Sylvanus’ husband, Riches Sammy, has issued a stern warning to bloggers and social media users against spreading false narratives about their marriage, saying he is prepared to take legal action.
His reaction follows online comments sparked by a video of the actress on a movie set, which surfaced on July 9. While some fans expressed concern over her appearance, others alleged that marriage had negatively affected her looks.
Addressing the controversy in an Instagram video on Wednesday, Sammy dismissed the claims, insisting the image making the rounds does not truly represent his wife’s appearance.
He said he could ignore the photo and the reactions it attracted but would not allow anyone to make defamatory or misleading statements about their marriage.
He said: “A picture that does not represent what my wife looks like has been circulating online recently, I might choose to overlook that and all the comments being made. But what I will not tolerate is someone making a derogatory or misleading caption about my marriage. I will take a legal action, so be warned.”
Nkiru Sylvanus has yet to publicly comment on the issue.
The actress and Sammy got married in January 2023, with their traditional wedding held in Osisioma, Abia State, followed by a church ceremony in Enugu State. Their union drew widespread attention after the couple kept their relationship out of the public eye until their wedding announcement.
