David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church has narrated dramatic incidents in which kidnapped members of his church were released after he intervened during communication with their abductors.
While addressing his congregation in a sermon that has since gone viral, Oyedepo explained that a pastor of the church regained freedom after he personally spoke to the kidnappers when they demanded ransom.
“one time, one of our pastors was kidnapped. When they called, I said give me the phone and I told them, in 24 hours if you don’t release him you are dead”.
He said the situation changed immediately after the call, adding that the environment around the captors became unsettled, which led to the pastor’s release.
According to him, “the place was vibrating”, and the abductors freed the victim without delay.
The cleric further urged his followers to always pass his phone number to kidnappers if they are ever taken, insisting they carry the same spiritual authority once they recognise it.
“If anybody picks you, give them my number. If he is not cut down, then I’m not sent. You carry the same force if you discover it”.
Oyedepo also shared another account involving a female member who was abducted but later regained freedom after declaring his words to her captors.
“One of our daughters was captured somewhere she told them that ‘my father said I’m getting out of here latest by 7 am’, and the kidnappers started cutting themselves”.
