Portable has opened up about surviving a minor car accident caused by brake failure in Ogun State on Thursday night.

The singer shared videos on his Instagram story, explaining that he had to steer his car into a ditch after the brakes suddenly stopped working while he was driving along his usual route.

“My fans, thank God on my behalf. This is my usual route. All of a sudden, I lost control of the wheel,” Portable said.

According to him, he acted quickly to avoid crashing into another vehicle and was fortunate to escape without any injuries or major damage to his car.

“I pressed the brake, but it did not respond. I do not want to die. Ogun saved me. Nothing happened to me. My car is not damaged. Let the government come and complete this road,” he added.

Portable also said he was grateful no trailer was passing by at the moment the brake failed, noting that the situation could have turned tragic.

“Nothing do me oo, I came out unhurt. I suddenly realised that the car had failed brake. I thank God my people did not come here to carry my corpse,” he stated.

The singer revealed that the incident happened just a day before the naming ceremony of his newborn son, Fijabi.

“I’ve already bought two cows for my son’s naming ceremony. Thank God that the accident didn’t happen when the trailer was passing on the road,” Portable said.

Portable welcomed the child with his wife, Bewaji, after she gave birth during his celebrity boxing match against Carter Efe on May 1.
