Residents of Ahoro-Esinele have begun fleeing their communities following a deadly terrorist attack that left the area in panic and fear last Friday.

It was earlier reported that armed terrorists stormed the area and abducted over 45 students, alongside six teachers and a school principal during coordinated attacks on Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele, and Yawota Baptist Nursery and Primary School.

The attack reportedly occurred between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., throwing the entire community into chaos as the gunmen whisked away the victims.

Since the abduction, the attackers have reportedly released disturbing videos showing some of the captives, including the principal and staff, pleading with President Bola Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde to intervene and secure their release.

In a tragic escalation, a video allegedly showing the execution of one of the teachers, Mr. Michael Oyedokun, surfaced online, sparking outrage and renewed fear.

Following the developments, residents have now begun abandoning their homes. A viral video circulating online shows largely deserted streets and houses as families rush to safer locations.

One resident of Yawota, Azeez Habibat, confirmed that many villagers have already fled the community, adding that children were among those abducted during the attack.

She also appealed to the government for urgent intervention, stressing the need to secure the release of the kidnapped victims, most of whom she described as young and vulnerable.

Habibat further revealed that videos of some of the captives, including the late teacher, had been circulated, deepening the distress among residents still in the area.
