Senator Sarafadeen Alli has emerged as the winner of the Oyo State APC governorship primary election after defeating other aspirants by a wide margin.
The lawmaker representing Oyo South Senatorial District secured 578,143 votes in the exercise, comfortably ahead of Senator Buhari, who polled 37,265 votes, while former Minister of Power Bayo Adelabu received 19,193 votes.
Following the announcement of the results, businessman and Okanlomo Odua/Bada Olubadan, Dotun Sanusi, congratulated Alli on what he described as a well-deserved and overwhelming victory.
In a statement issued yesterday, Sanusi said the outcome of the primary reflected the confidence and trust party members and supporters have in Alli’s leadership and vision for Oyo State.
He also praised members of the APC, the ROCOF/JDS group, market men and women, and supporters for their commitment and support throughout the primary process.
According to him, the victory represents a win for all progressive-minded people who desire growth and development in Oyo State.
Sanusi further urged party members to remain united and determined as preparations continue for the next phase of the political process.
