Afrobeats singer Skales has sparked widespread backlash on social media after declaring that he does not see any presidential candidate worthy of his vote in the upcoming election.
The controversy began after broadcaster Oseni Rufai posed a question on X, asking users who they would be voting for in the next presidential election.
In response, Skales bluntly wrote: “To be honest none !!!”
His comment immediately triggered reactions online, with many users accusing him of discouraging civic participation and refusing to engage in the electoral process.
One user, @_SammyNas, warned him against complaining about bad governance if he was unwilling to support any candidate.
“Make we no ever hear sey you Dey complain about bad governance,” the user wrote.
Skales replied by challenging critics to name a suitable candidate among those available.
“Tell me a good candidate amongst them all then,” he responded.
Another user, Jjayfreshworld, urged him to carry out proper research, insisting that there are still viable candidates in the political space.
However, Skales maintained his stance, stating: “I don’t see any good candidate that can take this country to a better place.”
