Sunday Igboho has dismissed reports claiming he was responsible for the rescue of three family members of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, who were abducted in Oyo State.
The Yoruba Nation activist, in a statement released on Sunday, said assertions linking him to the operation were inaccurate and should be disregarded.
According to him, the successful rescue was the result of efforts by security operatives who traced the kidnappers to their hideout, freed the victims, and apprehended suspects connected to the abduction.
“The operation was carried out by security personnel who tracked down the kidnappers’ hideout, rescued the victims and arrested suspects linked to the abduction,” the statement noted.
Igboho maintained that the security agencies involved deserved recognition for the operation and not individuals who played no role in it.
His reaction followed comments reportedly made by media personality Rufai Oseni suggesting that he was involved in the rescue. Igboho, however, rejected the claim and urged the public to rely on verified facts surrounding the incident.
