Fresh controversy has surrounded the death of Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba after her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, alleged that she passed away at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Onadeko disclosed this during an interview with Celestial Reality Check, the Media Investigative Unit of the Celestial Church of Christ, on Saturday.
The prophet also pushed back against different claims about the actress’ death. He said Osoba did not die from cancer-related complications and denied suggestions that she was poisoned or mistreated before her death.
According to him, he was not with Osoba when she died. Instead, he said an unknown caller contacted him at about midnight and informed him that she had died at a police station in Ikorodu.
Onadeko said he was unable to identify the particular police station where the alleged death occurred. He added that he later went to another nearby station and reported himself.
He also spoke about Osoba’s activities shortly before her death, saying she had gone to visit Mrs Kehinde Osoba, whom he described as a church operator.
The prophet said Osoba had wanted to see him as well, but he could not join her because he was occupied with church programmes. He added that the hairdresser who was accommodating the actress went with her for the visit.
Onadeko said they remained in contact during that period and that Osoba even made a social media post before he eventually received the news of her death.
Explaining how he learnt about the incident, he said:
“It was a random person that called me around 12 am that she died in a police station in Ikorodu.”
He added:
“Although I don’t know the police station she died but I reported myself in a nearby one.”
Speaking about Osoba’s movements before her death, Onadeko said:
“She had insisted to see Mrs Kehinde Osoba, she also has a church, although she said she wanted to see me too. When they left for there, I told them that I wasn’t chanced to go that day because of church programmes.
“The hairdresser that Tope was sleeping in her place was the person that went with her. We maintained communication and she even posted ‘Ogo tun tun’ until I heard that she died in the police station.”
