Nigerian singer and songwriter Tems lit up the grand opening ceremony of the Obama Presidential Center on Friday night with a captivating performance of her hit song, Me & U.

The Grammy-winning star brought her signature blend of Afrobeats and soulful melodies to the stage at the Center’s John Lewis Plaza, earning applause from guests gathered for the historic event.

Tems had earlier been announced as one of the featured performers at the ceremony, which attracted an array of influential figures, including former U.S. Presidents Barack Obama, Joe Biden, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton.

The Nigerian star shared the spotlight with a stellar lineup of global music icons, including Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Christina Aguilera, Bono, The Edge and Common, who all came together to celebrate the official unveiling of the landmark cultural and civic institution.
