Donald Trump has claimed that Iran “can’t get their act together” and posted a controversial image of himself holding a machine gun, warning “no more Mr Nice guy.”

In the post shared on social media, Trump appeared with an exploding Iranian landscape in the background, escalating already heightened tensions in his messaging toward Tehran.

The image came just a day after he stated that the King agrees with him that Iran must never be allowed to develop nuclear weapons.

Meanwhile, Iran has reportedly proposed ending its restrictions on the Strait of Hormuz if the United States lifts its blockade and brings an end to the ongoing conflict. The proposal would delay discussions on Iran’s nuclear programme.

The Strait of Hormuz remains a critical global shipping route, with about one-fifth of the world’s oil and gas passing through it during peacetime. Tensions over control of the waterway have intensified amid a fragile ceasefire between both sides.

Trump’s latest post suggests he is rejecting the offer, which was delivered to the United States through Pakistan. The proposal aimed to resolve key disputes that contributed to the conflict that escalated earlier this year.

The current US blockade is intended to limit Iran’s oil exports, a move Washington says is meant to cut off key revenue streams, while also putting pressure on Tehran’s production and storage capacity.
