Vinicius Jr starred with two goals as Brazil cruised to a convincing 3-0 victory over Scotland, sealing qualification for the Round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side took control early in the Group C encounter, capitalising on defensive lapses from Scotland. Vinicius opened the scoring in the seventh minute after a mistake by Scott McKenna gifted Brazil an opportunity, and the Real Madrid forward made no mistake with his finish.

The Brazilian winger thought he had doubled the lead midway through the first half, but the effort was disallowed following a foul in the build-up. He eventually got his second goal deep into first-half stoppage time, finishing off a move created by Bruno Guimaraes.

Matheus Cunha added Brazil’s third in the 60th minute to continue his fine scoring run before making way for Neymar, who marked his first appearance of the tournament after recovering from injury.

The result confirmed Brazil’s place in the knockout rounds, while Scotland ended the group stage in third place with three points and must now rely on the rankings of third-placed teams to keep their World Cup hopes alive.

Elsewhere, Morocco secured their own place in the next round with an entertaining 4-2 win over Haiti.

Haiti made history by scoring their first-ever FIFA World Cup goal and twice took the lead during a spirited display. An own goal by Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou put Haiti ahead before Achraf Hakimi levelled in the 39th minute.

Wilson Isidor restored Haiti’s advantage four minutes later, but Ismael Saibari struck in stoppage time before the break to ensure the teams went into halftime level.

Morocco took charge in the second half as Soufiane Rahimi and Gessime Yassine found the net to complete the comeback and secure all three points, sending the North Africans into the knockout stage.
