French football icon Zinedine Zidane is set to take charge of the French national team after reportedly agreeing to a contract that will keep him as head coach until June 2030.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano announced the development on Tuesday, saying the former Real Madrid manager has already signed his deal and will be officially unveiled in the coming days.
Romano wrote:
“Zinedine Zidane has signed as the new France coach until June 2030. The story has been confirmed as Zizou will be unveiled as the new head coach in the next days — back to work with France.”
If confirmed, Zidane will lead France into several major tournaments, including the 2027 UEFA Nations League, UEFA Euro 2028 and the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
The 54-year-old has been without a coaching job since leaving Real Madrid in 2021 after completing his second spell in charge of the Spanish giants.
