Uganda’s Chief of Defense Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, voiced his support for Israel amid the ongoing conflict with Iran in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) Thursday.
“We want the war in the Middle East to end now. The world is tired of it,” he wrote, adding that any attempts to destroy or defeat Israel would draw Uganda into the conflict. “On the side of Israel!” he concluded.
In a now-deleted post, Kainerugaba suggested that the Uganda People’s Defense Force (UPDF) could join the war on Israel’s side if the fighting continues.
“Israel has a right to exist and attacks against her must stop,” he stated.
Later Thursday, he added that he had offered the assistance of Ugandan forces to both the United States and Israel.
“We could have captured Tehran in 72 hours without any bombing,” he claimed. “But of course, they never listen to a black man. Why bomb people who support you?”
