Iran has announced the full reopening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping, tying the decision to the ongoing ceasefire arrangement in Lebanon.

The move comes after an announcement by President Donald Trump, who said Lebanon and Israel had agreed to halt hostilities in line with a ceasefire framework previously reached between Iran and the United States.

Reports say Iran and the U.S. had earlier agreed to a two-week ceasefire following peace discussions facilitated by Pakistani authorities. However, subsequent negotiations held in Islamabad last week reportedly failed to yield a lasting agreement.

Despite the temporary ceasefire, Israel is said to have stopped strikes on Iran while continuing military operations in Lebanon.

Iran had earlier warned that continued Israeli attacks in Lebanon would amount to a violation of the ceasefire arrangement involving the United States, cautioning that the situation could disrupt broader diplomatic efforts in the Middle East.
