Carlos Queiroz has been appointed as the new head coach of Ghana’s national team ahead of their World Cup campaign.
The Black Stars recently parted ways with Otto Addo in late March following a run of disappointing results against Germany and Austria.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed the appointment of the 73-year-old Portuguese manager, though it did not disclose the length of his contract.
Queiroz will be taking charge at his fifth World Cup as a coach, having previously led Portugal at the 2010, 2014, and 2018 tournaments, as well as Iran at the 2022 edition.
In an official statement, the GFA Executive Board said: “The GFA Executive Board, together with all stakeholders, has appointed Carlos Queiroz as head coach of the national team.
“The former coach of Real Madrid, Manchester United, Portugal and Iran will lead Ghana in the World Cup.”
