Popular sports broadcast journalist with Classic FM 97.3, Temisan Okomi, has died.

His death was confirmed by family members on Friday, bringing shock and sadness across Nigeria’s sports media space.

The news was also announced by one of his colleagues, Osikhena ‘Osi Suave’ Dirisu, who shared a tribute on X.

“Temisan, this wasn’t the plan. I have cried so much that I have a headache. But I’m consoled by the fact that you were such a good man. Thank you for the memories, the friendship, and the laughter. Rest well, my Egbon,” he wrote.

Okomi, a well-known voice in sports broadcasting, previously worked with Lagos Television, HiTV, and other major media organizations in Nigeria.

His sudden passing has thrown the sporting and media community into mourning, with colleagues describing him as friendly, active, and well-loved within the profession.
