A traditional leader in Warri has criticised First Lady Oluremi Tinubu over her involvement in national and regional issues, arguing that she should remain focused on her family responsibilities rather than public affairs.
Speaking at a public event, the chief said the First Lady’s office is not recognised by the Nigerian Constitution as an official government position, insisting that she should not participate in governance or political matters.
“She should take care of her responsibility by taking care of her husband and children. She has no place in the office of the presidency,” he stated.
He further argued that her involvement in issues affecting Warri and broader national concerns was inappropriate, saying such roles should be left strictly to elected or constitutionally recognised office holders.
The traditional leader also accused the First Lady of being disconnected from the realities faced by ordinary Nigerians, particularly amid rising insecurity and economic hardship across the country.
He expressed concern over the worsening security situation, saying many communities feel abandoned and increasingly frustrated by government response.
“Our blood is now bleeding. We are tired of all this nonsense from the Itsekiris. No matter who it is, we are prepared for it,” he added.
