Nigerian comedian and filmmaker Ayo Makun, widely known as AY, has postponed the 2026 edition of AY Live Warri, which was initially billed to hold on June 12.

The entertainer said the decision was influenced by the current security challenges and uncertainty being experienced across different parts of the country.

In a statement, AY explained that proceeding with the event at this time would be insensitive to the realities facing many Nigerians and the families affected by insecurity. He added that the safety of guests, performers, sponsors and supporters remained a top priority.

He stressed that the postponement was not a cancellation, assuring fans that plans were already underway to announce a new date for the show.

AY also expressed appreciation to his supporters for their patience and understanding, while promising that the event would return on a bigger scale when conditions become more favourable.

“At a time when many Nigerians are dealing with the painful effects of insecurity and uncertainty, we believe it is important to stand in solidarity with affected families and prioritise the safety of our audience and supporters,” he stated.

The comedian said he remains committed to delivering an unforgettable experience once the event is rescheduled.
