A pro-Tinubu group staged a counter-protest in Abuja on Saturday, voicing strong support for President Bola Tinubu while pushing back against criticism surrounding the abduction of schoolchildren in parts of the country.
The demonstrators gathered with placards and chants praising the president, insisting that the federal government should be allowed to focus on ongoing rescue operations without political distractions.
During the protest, some members of the group also accused Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde of politicising the abduction incident, alleging that certain narratives around the crisis were being driven by political ambition.
One of the protesters stated: “We love President Tinubu. Because you want to be president, you hid our children, allow President Tinubu to work.”
The rally comes amid growing public concern over the kidnapping of students and teachers in Oyo State, with citizens and civil society groups continuing to demand urgent action from security agencies.
Security operatives were on ground to monitor proceedings and prevent any breakdown of law and order as tensions around the incident remain high in Abuja and beyond.
