Content creator and Twitch streamer Davrel has found himself at the centre of online attention after an incident involving Afrobeats superstar Davido’s unreleased song during a livestream sparked controversy on social media.
The episode began when Davrel played the unreleased track during one of his live sessions, triggering backlash on X (formerly Twitter). Some users criticised the move, arguing it could affect the song’s official rollout and streaming performance once released. The situation quickly escalated, with the streamer facing heavy criticism online.
At the time of the incident, Davido was reportedly in Ibiza, Spain. However, after learning about what happened, the singer personally reached out to Davrel and addressed the situation in an unexpected way.
Davrel was later instructed to visit a luxury car dealership in Abuja, Sarkin Mota Autos, where he was told he could pick any car of his choice.
Following the directive, he visited the showroom and selected a 2025 Toyota Camry. Reports indicate that Davido fully paid for the vehicle, which is valued at around ₦68–₦70 million.
Davrel later confirmed the development, expressing appreciation to Davido for the gesture and the unexpected support despite the earlier controversy. His mother also publicly thanked the singer, describing the act as generous and uplifting.
