Ivy Okoye, wife of singer Paul Okoye, has advised people to be more intentional about the kind of music and movies they consume, warning that certain forms of entertainment can negatively influence the mind and spirit.
In a message shared on her social media page, the fashion entrepreneur urged fans to avoid content that promotes harmful thoughts or behaviours, regardless of how much they admire the people behind it.
According to Ivy, songs and films can gradually shape emotions, attitudes, and decisions, even when their effects are not immediately obvious.
“Pay attention to songs and movies that sow evil seeds in your spirit. It doesn’t matter how much you like the artist/actor/person, if you can feel it birthing evil in your mind lust, dishonesty, lies, any evil whatsoever, just cut it off,” she wrote.
She further cautioned against assuming one is immune to negative influences, stressing that repeated exposure to unhealthy content can eventually have an impact.
“Don’t worry, I know you feel like your spirit is strong and it can’t affect you, but believe me, just cut it off. It’s not really worth it! It will affect you,” she added.
Ivy’s message emphasised the importance of protecting one’s mental and spiritual well-being by being selective about the entertainment one consumes.
