The Ogun State Police Command has assured residents and road users that adequate security measures have been put in place along the Sagamu-Benin Expressway following a reported security incident around the J3 area of the highway.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Command said its operatives responded immediately after receiving a distress call and launched a coordinated operation to restore calm and track down the suspects involved.

Acting on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, four units of the Police Mobile Force (PMF), operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit and other tactical teams were deployed to the area.

According to the police, an extensive bush-combing operation is currently underway, with security personnel making significant progress in pursuing the fleeing suspects, securing the corridor and protecting commuters and nearby communities.

The Command stressed that there is no cause for panic, assuring members of the public that security has been reinforced and the situation is under control.
