Laycon has shared how a life-changing moment on Big Brother Naija ended up saving his mother’s life.
During a recent appearance on the Echo Room podcast, the music star disclosed that his mother was already seriously ill before he entered the show in 2020, and her condition worsened while he was away in the house.
He explained that things became critical by the time he returned, but winning the competition made all the difference. The financial reward and new opportunities that followed gave him the means to fund her treatment, ultimately turning the situation around and impacting his entire family’s future.
“Winning BBNaija saved my mother’s life. When I was in the house, my mom was ill. By the time I came out, my mom was close to death. I’m saying it categorically now, if I did not win that show, if I had gone and come out second, my mom would be dead now.”
