Nigerian singer and songwriter CKay has officially unveiled his third studio album, Banger Boy, expanding his catalogue with a 12-track project.
The album landed on streaming platforms on Friday and represents his latest full-length release after Emotions, which came out in 2024. It follows his 2022 album, Sad Romance.
Banger Boy features collaborations with several notable artistes. CKay teamed up with Phyno on “Para”, Mavo on “Body (danz)”, Kidd Carder on “African Girls”, Maleek Berry on “Sexy” and Ghanaian singer King Promise on “Zero”.
The remaining tracks on the album are “Ppower”, “Raba”, “E Clear”, “Bye Bye”, “Shege”, “Badaminton” and “NDA”.
Before delivering the complete album, CKay had released four of the songs — “E Clear”, “Body (danz)”, “African Girls” and “Badaminton” — as singles to give fans a taste of the project.
At the album listening party, CKay revealed some of his favourite records from the new body of work, naming “Shege”, “Ppower” and “Para” featuring Phyno among his top choices.
He also explained that the Phyno collaboration came from an unexpected meeting between both artistes at an airport in Houston.
“It’s hard to pick, but let me give you my top three. My top three would be ‘Para’ featuring Phyno. I love that record so much. The way the collaboration happened is funny,” he said.
CKay had announced Banger Boy in July, describing it as his third studio album. The project features five guest artistes and comes after a series of singles released by the singer over the past year.
