Colombia and Portugal played out a goalless draw in their final Group K match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with both teams securing qualification for the Round of 32.
The closely contested encounter saw both sides create scoring opportunities, but neither could find a breakthrough. Colombia threatened on the counterattack, while Portugal dominated possession for much of the match. However, disciplined defending and solid goalkeeping ensured the game ended 0-0.
With qualification already within reach for both teams, the match was played at a measured pace as they focused on securing their places in the knockout stage.
The result saw Colombia finish top of Group K with seven points, while Portugal advanced as runners-up with five points. Portugal will now face Group L runners-up Croatia in the Round of 32, while Colombia will take on one of the best third-placed teams.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Republic of Congo defeated Uzbekistan 3-1 in the other Group K fixture to book a place in the Round of 32.
Uzbekistan took an early lead in the 10th minute through Eldor Shomurodov after he was set up by Abbosbek Fayzullaev.
DR Congo responded eight minutes later when Yoane Wissa converted a penalty to level the score.
The physical contest produced several bookings, with Noah Sadiki, Nathanaël Mbuku and Samuel Moutoussamy cautioned for DR Congo, while Abdukodir Khusanov and Sukhrob Nasrullaev were booked for Uzbekistan.
The Congolese side continued to push for a winner after the break and were rewarded in the 78th minute when Fiston Mayele scored to make it 2-1.
Wissa completed his brace in stoppage time, finding the net in the 90+1st minute to seal a convincing 3-1 victory.
The win secured DR Congo’s place in the Round of 32, where they will face Group L winners England, while Uzbekistan exited the tournament after finishing bottom of Group K.
