Nollywood actress Cynthia Anijekwu has received ₦13.1 million in donations after publicly appealing for financial support to continue her cancer treatment.
The appeal gained widespread attention after fellow actress Destiny Etiko shared an emotional video of Cynthia asking Nigerians for help with her medical expenses.
Giving an update, Destiny Etiko revealed that generous donors had contributed ₦13.1 million out of the ₦20 million target.
Sharing the news on social media, she wrote:
“You all contributed 13.1M out of the 20M.
It’s a lot and she is overwhelmed with joy.
She is super grateful and in shock.
God bless y’all.
At least this will go a long way to help.
Honestly I never expected this massive love y’all showered on her.
All I can say is thank u Jesus.
And thanks to all my followers.”
Destiny thanked everyone who contributed, saying the donations would go a long way in supporting Cynthia’s treatment as she continues her battle with cancer.
