Nigerian rapper Falz has criticised First Lady Oluremi Tinubu over her remarks that the federal government is facing enormous pressure and that young Nigerians should support the administration.
Speaking during an interview on Arise TV, the rapper said elected leaders should not complain about the demands of governance because they willingly sought public office.
Falz also questioned the government’s spending priorities, claiming that resources appear to be going toward luxury purchases while many Nigerians continue to grapple with insecurity and economic hardship.
He further revisited President Bola Tinubu’s campaign slogan, “Emi Lokan” (“It’s my turn”), describing it as one of the most absurd political statements he has heard.
“What do you mean, pressure on the government? Did anyone beg you to take up this work?” he said.
“If I remember clearly, the campaign slogan for this current administration was ‘Emi Lokan.’ Do you know what that translates to in English? It is my turn.
“That means from day one that you set out on your political journey, this is the day you have been waiting for. So how can you come out and say the pressure is on you? Are you okay?”
I have never seen anything more absurd than the “E Mi L’okan slogan” in my entire life.
