Nigeria’s senior women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have received the documents for their promised homes and national honours, marking the fulfilment of a Federal Government pledge following their historic achievements on the global stage.

The handover ceremony took place in Lyon, France, with the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, and the Commission’s Director General, Hon. Bukola Olopade, formally presenting the documents to the players and officials.

During the event, Dikko described the occasion as a clear demonstration of the government’s commitment to recognising and rewarding excellence in Nigerian sports. He praised D’Tigress for their dedication, discipline, and patriotism, emphasizing that their successes have brought both pride and international recognition to the country.

He added that fulfilling these promises underscores the government’s appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigerian athletes and its determination to inspire them to continue achieving on the global stage.
