Human rights lawyer Femi Falana and his son, rapper Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, have joined a public demonstration in Lagos State calling for urgent action over worsening insecurity and economic hardship in Nigeria.
The protest took place on Friday morning at the Ikeja Underbridge area of Lagos State, where citizens gathered to voice concerns about the country’s security challenges and rising cost of living.
Protesters carried placards with different messages demanding immediate government intervention. Some of the inscriptions included “No Democracy Without Security,” “End Insecurity and Kidnapping,” “End Bad Governance,” and “Free All Abducted Children, Teachers, Farmers,” among others.
The demonstrators expressed frustration over what they described as increasing violence and poor governance, insisting that urgent steps must be taken to protect lives and restore public confidence.
Femi Falana and Falz’s appearance at the protest drew significant attention, as both have consistently spoken out on issues relating to human rights, accountability, and governance in the country.
The protest comes amid ongoing national debates on insecurity, even as President Bola Tinubu has assured citizens of continued efforts to address security challenges across the nation.
