Peter Obi has alleged that the administration of President Bola Tinubu is deliberately frustrating him, claiming he faces constant obstacles and intimidation in his daily activities.
Speaking during an interview with Chude Jideonwo, the former Labour Party presidential candidate said he is more concerned about his safety than whether he will contest another election.
“I might not even be alive. I’m telling you, every single thing I do for a living, this government is frustrating it. Deliberately so. Everything. So there’s even possibility if they have opportunity, I will not be alive,” Obi said.
He claimed the government is targeting him personally and making it difficult for him to carry out activities he believes he is entitled to.
Obi also recounted an incident at an airport where he said airport officials locked his car despite other vehicles being parked in the same area.
“I said it’s me. The person on the system said it doesn’t care. He locked my car in front of me and said you’re not supposed to park here, but there are cars here. So what is the exception to my own?” he said.
The former Anambra State governor further alleged that some people now avoid publicly associating with him because they fear becoming targets.
“I know people at the airport who will not greet me because they are saying that if they greet me, they become targets. People send me invitations, but later plead with me not to attend,” he added.
