Residents of Igboho community in Oyo State are celebrating after a pregnant woman, her children and a sibling who were kidnapped by suspected bandits regained their freedom shortly after Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, issued a two-hour ultimatum.

Igboho had earlier on Saturday summoned Fulani community leaders in the area and demanded that the abductors release the victims within two hours. He warned that the growing wave of kidnappings and insecurity in the South-West had become unbearable and vowed that criminal activities would no longer be tolerated.

In a video circulating online, the activist, speaking in Yoruba, accused some members of the Fulani community of complicity in a series of abductions in the area, including the kidnapping of the pregnant woman and her family members.

He also expressed outrage over the reported killing of a man who delivered ransom money to the kidnappers.

“The person who brought the ransom, you still killed him and spared only one person,” Igboho said angrily, insisting that such acts must never happen again.

A few hours after his warning, videos emerged on social media showing jubilant residents welcoming the released victims back to the community.

Although the exact circumstances surrounding their freedom remain unclear, reports suggest the kidnappers released the victims after Igboho’s ultimatum.
