May Yul-Edochie, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has filed a suit before a Lagos State High Court seeking the removal of social media accounts allegedly used to cyberbully, harass and defame her.
In the suit marked LD/10737GCM/2026, May is asking the court to restrain Yinka Omolola Theisen, Emeka Ugwuonye and unidentified operators of several social media accounts from making further allegedly defamatory publications about her on Facebook, Instagram, X and other online platforms.
The application, filed through her lawyers, Jessica Egbafor and Esther Fijo of Greylaw Partners, also seeks a perpetual injunction restraining the defendants from publishing content she described as defamatory, threatening and harassing.
She further urged the court to order the deletion of the disputed social media accounts and posts, and direct the affected social media platforms to release information about the account holders to aid investigations.
In a 126-paragraph affidavit, May alleged that she has been subjected to years of online harassment through false allegations, manipulated photographs, AI-generated images, insulting caricatures, death wishes and other offensive content aimed at damaging her reputation.
She also claimed that despite serving legal notices on some of the defendants in 2025 demanding the removal of the publications, the attacks intensified, with new accounts allegedly created to continue the campaign.
May further accused one of the defendants, whom she described as her former lawyer, of breaching solicitor-client confidentiality by publishing information obtained during the course of legal representation.
According to her, the alleged publications have affected her business, endorsement deals and commercial relationships, while the circulation of her private contact details exposed members of her family to harassment and caused her emotional distress.
Justice Abdul-Raheem Tejumade Muyideen has ordered that all court processes be served on the defendants through their last known residential addresses, email addresses and social media platforms before adjourning the case for a service report.
